review reply missing

If you opened your Google Business Profile today and every reply to your reviews has vanished, take a breath. Your replies are not gone. Google is just not showing them to you.

Here’s what’s happening. When you’re logged into your account, the reply section under each review appears empty. It looks like years of responses got wiped. But if you open the same profile in an incognito window, the replies show up fine. The data is intact. The display is broken.

This is impacting several profiles, not a handful of unlucky accounts as per complaint  in the Google Business Profiles forums. He tried leaving a test reply on his own profile and it sat in pending while his older replies stayed invisible. Google Product Experts have confirmed it’s a known bug and Google is aware.

If this feels familiar, that’s because it is. Over the past few months we’ve seen Google Business Profiles showing “you have no reviews yet” when reviews existed, and before that, reviews disappearing outright. Both got fixed. This one will too.

What should you actually do right now? Nothing, mostly. Don’t re-reply to reviews thinking your responses were deleted. You’ll either create duplicates or confuse the system once the fix rolls out. If a client pings you in a panic, send them a screenshot from an incognito window showing their replies are still live for customers. That’s usually enough to calm things down.

The one real takeaway here is that your review responses live entirely inside Google’s system, and Google’s local system has been shaky lately. If you manage reviews at any scale, keep your own record of what you’ve responded to and when. When the dashboard lies to you, and lately it does that a lot, your own log is the only source of truth you control.

I’ll update this if Google confirms a fix.
